American Airlines? Fares Return To Expedia And Hotwire

Earlier in January, we heard that American Airlines' fares and links were removed completely from travel bookings site Expedia, after the two companies failed to come to a distribution agreement. Today, American Airlines and Expedia have made peace, announcing a new " memorandum of understanding" that will allow the companies to resume doing business together effective immediately. Financial terms of the agreement have not been disclosed, but clearly, the airline and travel site were able to come to a mutual agreement that suited their interests financially. American had a similar issue with travel search site Orbitz, and also removed its listings in late December 2010.

Line Grapefruit is a tricky Flash "path" game

linegrapefruit
Okay, see that snaking line coming in from the right on the screenshot? That's you. And see those large round circles? Those are supposedly grapefruits, only they won't sit still - they keep moving up and down and cutting across your path. And if you touch one, you die!

That's what you have to deal with in Line Grapefruit. But that's not all - you're also on a time limit. In fact, you have a very limited amount of time to make it through the "path" (for lack of a better word). You need to snake your way through the winding trail without touching anything. The good news is that a grapefruit only kills you if it touches the end of the line - once you've made it past the grapefruit, nothing happens if it crosses the path you've made.

This is not an easy game, but it's quite unique - I can't recall seeing another game quite like it.

The mobile app marketplace is exploding; there are now hundreds of thousands of apps on the iOS, Android and BlackBerry app markets. Heck, even Windows Phone 7 just crossed the 10,000 mark!

Watch the 50,000 Volt Taser Grenade Shock Its First Civilian Victim [Video]

There's a new Taser in town! The company's 50,000 volt projectile, the Taser Grenade, can incapacitate those who need to be incapacitated at distances of up to 900 feet. The Daily's Justin Rocket Silverman (Rocket!) has the distinction of being the first civilian to be zapped by the new weapon, an experience he takes quite stoically, though the company wouldn't actually fire the thing at him and just shocked him with a box of Taser Grenade guts instead. Still! This looks painful! The military is currently conducting tests with the projectile and police departments could be soon to follow, so you can probably expect the long distance tasing YouTubes to start rolling in very soon indeed. Toepener: Open Bathroom Door With Your Feet

I’m about to tell you about what I do in public bathrooms. Don’t worry, though: its not gross or weird. I use my foot to open doors and to pop up toilet seats. And I never wash my hands in public restrooms — I just figure that everything in there is too dirty to [...]

AT&T bumps early-upgrade prices for all smartphones, reminds that patience is a virtue

AT&T bumps early-upgrade prices for all smartphones, reminds that patience is a virtue
The two year contract is a blessing and a curse, but looking at these updated prices from AT&T we're thinking those upgrading early and doing so to a one year contract are quite simply doomed. AT&T has upped the price on all early-upgrade one year commitment smartphones by a whopping $150. That's painful, but the iPhone is, at least, getting off a little easier. It's jumping by a relatively meager $50, meaning a new 32GB iPhone 4 will cost you $549 vs the previous $449. Or you could, you know, just suck it up for another 12 months.

Mitoza is a fun, freaky Web toy with an artistic look

mitoza
While not a game per se, I found Mitoza intriguing enough to spend quite some time with it. You start off with a seed, and are then presented with two choices: you can either click a flower pot, or click a cute little birdie.

If you click the flower pot, a flower pot appears and the seed is planted inside. You're then presented with two further choices -- a water can or a bottle of fertilizer. Each choice you make causes your creation to morph, and presents you with two other choices.

There's no winning or losing, really. Each "game" usually lasts around four or five choices, at which point the plant/animal dies in some creative (but not too gruesome) way. At this point you instantly start over with a new seed.

The graphics are captivating; the whole thing has a cinematic feel to it, with a bit of artificial camera shake added for style.

All in all, it's a fun, peaceful way to spend a few minutes, and it might even make you think a little bit while you're at it.

Don't Use the New Facebook for iPhone to Be a Jerk [IPhone Apps]

A tiny update to Facebook for iPhone, but one that delivers great power and requires great responsibility: You can now strike mortal blows and un-friend people from your phone. That's some serious business, like the suitcase that carries nuclear launch codes. But for your relationships. More »

Acer's 7-inch Iconia Tab A100 priced at 300 in UK, launching April 20th

Boy oh boy, these Taiwanese companies are seriously gunning to take the bottom out of the Honeycomb tablet market. After we saw ASUS stride forward with very competitive pricing on its 10-inch Eee Pad Transformer, we're now being treated to Acer's riposte, an eminently reasonable £300 ($483) price tag attached to its 7-inch Iconia Tab. Nothing is really skimped on here, you get the dual-core Tegra 2 and Android 3.0 one-two punch of hardware and software that's become so popular lately, and of course the RAM is 512MB, not KB as indicated on Amazon's listing. Perhaps the 8GB of storage will be a little on the light side, but given the price, we consider that a most forgivable shortcoming. Amazon notes the release date as April 20th in the UK and we doubt the rest of the world will have to wait much longer either.
