AirSync for doubleTwist brings wireless syncing to Android phones
Setup is relatively painless, requiring just a passcode from your phone which is input on the PC side. From then on, whenever you've got the app open and your device in range, the content stored on the phone will appear in your DoubleTwist list just as if you'd plugged the phone in (similar to the Windows Phone 7 / Zune wireless sync). We took AirSync for a ride with our Mac and Droid Incredible, and everything seemed to work fine, though we did notice a few bugs (one that was pretty major) that need worked out. Firstly, you'll probably want to just start fresh with syncing your collection -- we made the mistake of trying to pick up where we'd left off and accidentally wiped the content stored on the phone. We also noticed issues with the application trying to sync or update your database while listening to music; more than once our playback abruptly stopped when the app was attempting to talk to the phone. Syncing can also be pretty slow depending on your connection -- really slow if you've got a big collection.
Despite those complaints, AirSync (and both the doubleTwist Android app and desktop client) are incredibly slick solutions to a problem plaguing lots of smartphone users. The company obviously has just begun its work with the app -- and it's clear that there are kinks to work out -- but the dream of a wireless future for Android users just got a lot closer to reality.

Microsoft reiterates copy and paste is Windows Phone 7's first update, 'additional updates delivered in the future'
So it sounds to us like priority one in Redmond is to get copy and paste up and running (which is basically the message they've been delivering for a while), though we should expect plenty more through future updates. When you figure in the size of the team Microsoft has built for engineering this platform -- and the fact that they've now got the initial retail release out of the way -- we're hoping they've got nothing better to do than to churn on some of these pain points users have identified over the next few months. Should be a heck of a year coming up, eh?"Microsoft is committed to delivering regular updates to the Windows Phone experience. Our first update will make copy & paste available in early 2011. In addition to this first update, all Windows Phone 7 users should expect to see additional updates delivered in the future as part of Microsoft's ongoing update process."

Facebook Messages: combine all of your inboxes and IM clients into one, unlimited storage service
The idea is that you will push every digital communication through Facebook, and thus everything can be logged -- every message has a context. If you email and SMS your significant other, both those messages will appear in order, in the conversation history.
Facebook has invested in lots of shiny new infrastructure that builds upon their existing technologies -- they're ready for the swell of traffic that the
The 'social inbox' feature sounds a lot like a hyper-intelligent 'Priority Inbox' system. By default, email (or any communication) from your friends or friends-of-friends will appear at the top of your inbox, followed by everyone else. You can also automatically bounce anyone that isn't a friend; awesome! You can of course make it so non-Facebook friends appear at the top of your inbox too.
Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO, closed with (roughly) these words. "This is not an email killer. This is a messaging system that includes email as one part of it. We don't want people to shut down their Yahoo or Gmail account. People are shifting towards more and more simple communication -- if we do a good job, we think more people will engage in IM [on Facebook's new platform]. If we do a good job at that, maybe one day, two years out, people will say that instant messaging, not email, is the way forward."
Update:
- There's no content filtering (no rules)
- Incoming mail from people that don't use Facebook will automatically hit your normal, 'non-priority' inbox
- You can move friends down the priority list, and move 'external' non-Facebook friends up
- Message forwarding will be possible
- Unlimited storage! Or at least, no explicit cap on how much data you can store
- There's a video after the break that demonstrates the new Messages product

Momiga is an extremely minimalistic, fun Time Waster
Yes, that's an actual screenshot up there, not an error. That's what Momiga looks like!
One dot, one button (the left mouse button, or SPACE on the keyboard), and one cute "beep" sound. That's all you get. This is probably the most bare-bones time-waster we've ever published, but it's awesome just for that.
You have to get the dot from one end of the screen to the other. The dot's starting position signifies your progress through the levels of the game. As you can see in the screenshot, the dot is quite high, so I'm fairly well advanced in the game.
On every level, your input affects the dot in a slightly different way. Sometimes your click launches the dot very forcefully, so you have to be careful. On other levels, the click causes the dot to levitate, so you have to keep clicking so that the dot doesn't crash at the bottom of the level (but don't click too fast, or it would go out the top).
It's a short time waster, but it's a fascinating one. The level on the screenshot is very frustrating, but all of the other ones were fun, and fairly easy to pass.

Twitter signs Gnip to provide firehose access for $360,000/year
ReadWriteWeb reports that Twitter has just signed an agreement with Gnip, a social data streaming service, to offer half of Twitter's total message traffic for $360,000/year. That is, if you want to analyze Twitter data, you're going to have to pay Gnip for the privilege.
With this move, Twitter is effectively outsourcing the "tweet analysis" business. The tweets sold via Gnip are not for display purposes - meaning, if you buy them, you must keep them largely to yourself and be content analyzing them and using the results. Customers like Google, who use 100 percent of Twitter's firehose for displaying instant search results, will still deal directly with Twitter.
